Is Waxing Your Car Worth It?

shutterstock_432465772 (800x534)With the many other things to keep us busy, we often overlook car maintenance. Waxing your car is one of these things, and with the natural wear and tear that can occur to the body of your car, it could be a costly thing to overlook.

Without wax, the paint on your car is more susceptible to the effects of dust, dirt, grime, and other debris that it may run into. With a layer of wax on your car, the paint has an extra layer of protection which could be extremely useful in avoiding scratches and other effects to the body. While wax cannot prevent these things entirely, it is a very good extra measure which will help diminish the attention you’ll need to give to detailing and body touch-ups down the road.

Wax can also help seal your paint and avoid discolouration from other effects like the UV rays, which is particularly good during the summer months. Other things which may affect your paint, such as bird droppings, sap drips if you park near trees, and mud, can stay minor issues when you have a layer of wax to help prevent any damage to your paint. Your car’s colour will keep its vibrancy longer, and you won’t see its shine dull so fast.

Having a car that looks nice is about more than just looks. It maintains the value of your vehicle and will make your investment last longer and help you maintain a higher resale value. With just a small investment of time (1-2 times a year) and little bit of money, you could help maintain the value of your vehicle.
